Mission
CSP – Project PATH’s Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Project aims to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use among the young adult population age 18-24 throughout the West/Central region of Orange County. In collaboration with the County of Orange Health Care Agency’s Tobacco Use Prevention Program, CSP – Project PATH employs the following strategies to educate the community above the negative health effects of tobacco as well as promote the 1-866-NEW-LUNG cessation hotline.
Collaborate and build partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and businesses. Develop, maintain, and expand a media campaign educating the community about the harmful health effects of tobacco use, secondhand smoke, and new tobacco products as well as market the 1-866-NEW-LUNG cessation hotline. Maintain task force of key community members to assist in the development and implementation of tobacco prevention and cessation services Conduct educational presentations to 18-24 year olds at educational institutions, businesses, and other community organizations regarding the harmful effects of tobacco and cessation strategies. Participate in community events to promote awareness of the TPC project and the 1-866-NEW-LUNG cessation hotline. Institutionalize tobacco prevention and cessation services within the organizations of our community partners
