NEW OPENINGS! SUPERVISOR (Victim Assistance Programs - Fullerton) – F/T. Responsibilities include: Responsible for day-to-day operation of Victim/Witness Assistance Program at North Justice Center in Fullerton. Supervise staff and volunteers providing crime victim services, restitution services, and witness coordination. Provide direct services to victims of crime. Requirements include: Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field and minimum of two years experience working with people in a human services setting. Supervisory experience a plus. VICTIM ADVOCATE (Homicide Victim Services - Santa Ana) - F/T. Responsibilities include: Work with survivors of homicide in partnership with the District Attorney's Office Homicide Unit located at the 401 Building. Responsible for providing crisis intervention, funeral/burial assistance, court support, case updates and attending monthly Parents of Murdered Children support groups. Requirements include: BA Degree in related field, at least 1 year of experience as a victim advocate or in a similar position, and basic knowledge of the criminal justice system, the grieving process and traumatic death.
CORPORATE ADMINISTRATION HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST (Santa Ana) – F/T. Responsibilities include: Perform, administer, and coordinate HR processes and projects in areas such as recruitment, benefits administration, compensation, compliance, training and development. Requirements include: Requires Bachelors degree and/or HR Certification, advanced knowledge and experience acquired from successful performance of increasingly responsible HR positions. Excellent organization, analytical, detail-orientation, project management, and verbal/written/interpersonal skills required. Effective public speaking and presentation skills are necessary, along with strong PC skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.
HUNTINGTON BEACH YOUTH SHELTER YOUTH SPECIALIST – On-Call. Responsibilities include: Work with at-risk youth at the 24/7 Huntington Beach Youth Shelter, a 12-bed short-term crisis intervention program for children ages 11-17. Supervise youth, lead educational and recreational activities, facilitate group counseling sessions, prepare meals, complete cleaning chores, and maintain facility. Requirements include: Must be available for some overnight and weekend shifts. Experience working with at-risk youth or educational coursework in Psychology or Human Services related field and excellent written and verbal communication skills required
VICTIM ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS OFFICE SPECIALIST (Santa Ana) – P/T (M-F, 1-5). Responsibilities include: Perform administrative tasks for Victim Assistance Programs Administration. Answer phones, which may require communicating with victims, therapist, and community members, special event assistance, data entry and other secretarial duties. Requirements include: High school diploma, knowledge of clerical and technical skills normally acquired through a one-year training program in general office practices, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications. VICTIM ADVOCATE (Domestic Violence Assistance Programs - Orange) - F/T. Responsibilities include: Assisting victims of family violence with the Temporary Restraining Order process and other needs as appropriate. Requirements include: A BA Degree in social services, criminal justice or related subjects. Self-motivated, team player who has basic knowledge of domestic violence and is interested in working with domestic violence victims in the family law court. Bilingual English/Spanish required. VICTIM ADVOCATE (Sexual Assault Victim Services – Santa Ana) – F/T. Responsibilities include: Respond to victims of sexual assault and their families as required to mitigate the impact of victimization, case investigation, and court appearance. Respond on a rotating basis to Spanish hotline after hours and weekends and co-facilitates the Spanish Speaking Support Group. Position is assigned to the Statutory Rape Vertical Prosecution Caseload. Requirements include: Thorough knowledge of sexual assault as usually acquired through a Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, criminal justice or related field. Requires 48-hour Sexual Assault Counselor Certification. Normally requires up to two years of related experience working with people in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration. Bilingual English/Spanish required WITNESS SPECIALIST (Santa Ana/Westminster) - F/T. Responsibilities include: Entry-level position. Place witnesses, subpoenaed by the District Attorney's Office, on-call and schedule court appearances. Maintain accurate records, and assist clients with the requirements of the criminal justice system. Requirements include: Good customer service and organizational skills. Bilingual English/Spanish or Vietnamese preferred for Westminster. Bilingual English/Spanish required for Santa Ana.
YOUTH & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS HEALTH EDUCATOR (Project PATH - Santa Ana) - F/T. Responsibilities include: Provide community health education and technical assistance on alcohol and other drug prevention. Aid in community mobilization while working with youth, community members, school administrators and city representatives. Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Health Science or related field, and some knowledge of health education and prevention strategies. Possession of a valid California driver’s license also required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. OFFICE SPECIALIST (Santa Ana) – P/T. Responsibilities include: Provide general clerical and reception support with emphasis on computer work, processing program related paperwork, data entry, answering phones and other secretarial duties. Requirements include: Excellent verbal communication skills, High school diploma, knowledge of clerical and technical skills normally acquired through a one-year training program in general office procedures, and 1 – 2 years related office experience. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. PARENT EDUCATOR (Santa Ana) – F/T. Responsibilities include: Provides parent education to minors of high risk youth at the Youth & Family Resource Center. Provides reinforcement, coaching and individual follow up with parents referred to parenting. Provides education and training to teen parents. Implements pregnancy prevention classes to identified at risk minors. Requirements include: Bachelors degree in social work, psychology or related field. Two years related experience, counseling experience with high risk adolescents and families preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
YOUTHFUL OFFENDER WRAPAROUND Service Coordinator (Santa Ana) – F/T. Responsibilities include: The Service Coordinator (SC) provides in-home case management services to youth transitioning out of incarceration. The SC leads the implementation of a service plan covering the entire range of needs for the family to promote success, safety, and permanence in the home, school, workforce and community. The SC works with the family to increase positive influence and decrease negative behavioral issues. The SC coordinates services amongst all members of the team using a “what-ever-it-takes” approach and provides written progress reports. Requirements include: Bachelors degree in psychology, social work or related discipline. 1-2 years experience in the field. Ability to establish rapport, make accurate assessment of the family’s needs, assist the family in accessing and utilizing the resource, good written and communication skills and demonstrates the ability to work with a diverse multicultural/ethnic population. Requires possession of a valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements and a clean driving record. Monday – Friday; 9:00 a.m. – 6 p.m. and after-hours availability based on client needs. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
